Cal Stamenov is Executive Chef at Cella Restaurant & Bar

Cella Restaurant & Bar is located in downtown Monterey at the Historic Cooper Molera Adobe.

Chef Cal, who has become the Chef’s Chef of the Central Coast, has reigned from the early days of the Highlands Inn overseeng the Masters of Food and Wine events, to building Bernardus Lodge’s culinary team that would cultivate some of the areas best Chefs.

Blending classic technique with local simplicity, and the idea of slow food cooking, Chef Cal brings years of experience, and relationships with the areas best farmers and foragers.

BERNABE DE LUNA

Bernabe DeLuna is the General Manager of Cella Restaurant & Bar.

DeLuna came to the peninsula from Mexico in 1988 and leaned into his passion for wine and hospitality in the early 90’s, joining the Highland Inn’s team. Always striving to give the best service, becoming certified sommelier by Court of Masters Sommelier of America, and cultivating relationships with guests and venders alike had propelled him into the role of Wine Director for its restaurant, Pacific’s Edge and Sommelier for Carmel favorite, Aubergine and Cantinetta Luca.

Bernabe continues to grace the cellars of Central California, taking the helm of Cella Restaurant & Bar’s dining room and 50+ seat patio set in the historic, early California landmark, Cooper Molera Adobe.

JOSHUA PERRY

Joshua Perry joined Cella with a commitment to personally tailored experiences that will leave no guest wanting. Since coming on board last spring, Josh has spearheaded and launched Cella’s ever evolving cocktail offerings.

His passion of bartending goes beyond the restaurant, as he regularly competes in cocktail competitions, both locally and nationally; helping hone his craft to provide the best possible libations to his guests.

Josh’s idea of great service is simple - great cocktails, great food. “Come enough and a wink and a nod will get you your drink; you won’t even have to ask.”
